I have a 24 Willy and the Jeep shutdown while my son was driving and the car behind him almost hit him…

I have been in IT for over 30 years and this is insane that they did not test this update correctly… Hopefully they are working 24x7 to fix it because this is dangerous and the fact I have to goto a forum to find out is scary as well..

Honestly - when the dust settles with this, I expect a FULL, DETAILED explanation as to exactly what happened here. I don’t want to read speculation on a forum - I want to know what happened from the horse’s mouth, and what will be done differently moving forward. These things are not toys - they are vehicles with the ability to kill people.
A postmortem. But that implies professional standards and operations, which CLEARLY this company does not possess. I'm so sick of Stellantis.

I also work in IT, I’m actually a Software Test Engineer and I cannot fathom how a bug of this size and nature made it through dev unit testing AND QA testing.

Good evening everyone,

A fix was launched after 6 PM EST. In order for the vehicle to receive the fix, it does require the vehicle to be turned on in good cellular coverage. There will not be a pop-up message.

After allowing the vehicle to be on for at least 10 minutes, the recommendation is to turn the vehicle off, back on, and ensure there is no code/fault on the instrument cluster and you see 'Ready.'

For those that had vehicles towed to dealers, we should be able to have all dealers assist in ensuring this is completed Monday morning so vehicles are ready for pickup quickly.

For anyone that incurred a towing cost or a diagnostic fee (or any other related expense), we will assist in reimbursing or canceling any fees. This will commence on Monday.

Please expect additional follow ups in the morning with more information as I receive it.

Additionally, I will reach out shortly to each person who also messaged.

If you attempt the steps above and you still see a CEL or do not see 'READY,' please let me know here or via message.

Is the firmware build number supposed to be different or something even though there wasn’t an update? The check engine light is off but how do we know it worked?

So do I need to install the bad update to have it fixed? Ive just been telling it to install Later.
Please defer the pop-up for now.

I would like to get additional clarification tomorrow morning for anyone who has not completed the update yet.

I got in my Jeep and the CEL was off. I backed out of the garage and sat in Park with it ON and in Park. Less than a minute it shut off, CEL popped up and also a message “EDrive Mode Temporarily Unavailable”. It went away and now it won’t stay running longer than a minute and the CEL is back. Somehow it got worse! 😔
