Jeep revealed the 2021 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer and one of the biggest takeaways for me is that the Wagoneer will come with a 5.7L V8 with what Jeep calls an eTorque hybrid system.
The engine produces 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque.

This system replaces a traditional alternator with a belt-driven motor generator unit, which feeds a 48-volt battery pack. This new eTorque hybrid system helps to smooth out the jarring experience of modern start/stop systems, while also serving as a torque filler for the engine in certain driving situations. In fact, the hybrid system is able to lay down up to 130 lb-ft of torque on throttle tip-in. Other fuel-saving measures include variable camshaft timing and cylinder deactivation systems. A TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and a 3.21 axle ratio are also standard.
