Hi all. New to the forum.

I leased our 2022 GC 4xe in Nov. of 2022 and unfortunately we've had nothing but problems with it ever since, all of which seem to be related to the computer processors. I brought it to the dealership in early Dec. 2022 to have a Mopar tow hitch and harness installed and something went wrong with the computer system when trying to connect the new tow hitch to the directional signaling system. The dealership had the car for 6 weeks and returned it saying the issue had finally been resolved after they installed new computer modules.

About a week after I got the vehicle back, the directional started blinking at a slower rate than normal (about half the normal blinker speed). I brought it back into the dealership and they said it was definitely related to the new computer modules they had to install, but they didn't have a fix so they said they would call me when after they spoke to Jeep national engineers and Stellantis.

Then, about another week later, after parking the car, the Uconnect display said there were over the air updates available. I turned the car off, ran my errands, came back and nothing but the essentials (e.g. climate controls) would work on the display. No radio, profiles, etc. I brought it back to the dealership the next day and they were not able to fix it. They said they got approval from Stellantis to order a new radio unit and now they're awaiting that part to arrive. They've had the car for another 3 1/2 weeks now and I have no indication as to when it will be ready.

This is our first Jeep and it's been pretty disappointing so far. Are there any official @JeepCares folks here that can help? Or anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Thanks

I've had my new 2022 Overland since 2-28-23 and have experienced numerous issues, the worst of which is most recent in which the seat belt would not release. A tech finally loosened it and later plastic was found in the mechanism. The dealership has the car now and it is waiting an appointment to fix the auto high beams, the turn lights, the lack of key fob association, etc. Before taking it in yesterday, I thought the signal flasher was slow also. My appointment to fix is next Wed.

Or anyone else experiencing similar issues?
I’ve been reading this forum (and others) since well before anyone actually took delivery of a GC 4xe, and while many people (including myself) have reported a wide variety of UConnect issues, they’ve largely been in the category of “minor annoyance.” Yours is probably the worst I’ve read so far.*

I did read one report from someone with a non-4xe 2022 GC who was having issues on a similar scale to yours; if I remember correctly, replacing the head unit did do the trick.

*There was also this poster—he wasn’t super specific, and I don’t know how his turned out:
(The post previewed above is the just first post of the thread, and not actually the linked post.)

Agreed and probably due to it being the new Uconnect 5 system. The Wrangler 4Xe get all the recalls and the GC gets all Uconnect issues ha.

We've had our 2023 Overland 4Xe since 1/10/2023. Was built on 12/16/2023. 2500 miles so far.
We have had zero issues. No FORM issues, no U-connect issues and no drive train noise issues.
Had it in the snow at Lake Tahoe for several days it ran perfect.
We had a 2022 Overland V6 that was a nightmare that ended up being bought back.
While it makes no sense as I had heard that 2022 and 2023 4Xe's are the same - I'm wondering if things improved in the 2023 builds and or the build process????

Note I have seen a couple of weird Apple iOS issues when playing music - on our Ford Sync 3.4 on our 2018 F250, 2017 Shelby GT 350 and the 2023 Overland 4Xe.

Regarding our 2023 Overland 4Xe = its happened -. Just had my first Uconnect weirdness.

Version Information
Build # - FCA-MY23.T25.50-PROD

Tried to make charge time changes via the Jeep APP. Once I updated and saved the charge time window I kept getting a time out when the APP tried to apply the changes.

Next I went in to the Unconnect screen to make the changes to my charging times. Hit e mode tab and the screen is gray / blank. Restarted the unit - still the same - a bank screen.

All other Uconnect features work with no issue. Also I noticed on the driver screen that the changes I made and transmitted via the APP did apply.

Last week I got a notice for a software update - I'm wondering if this is related?

Curious if any 2023 models with the Uconnect build is the same as ours. Our rig was built on 12/16/2022.

Any one else not seeing the e mode screens?

Is there a way to force a reload of an update?

Yep, after the update (same release as yours) my e-Hybrid pages disappeared.

I just spoke to Uconnect customer service. They emailed me me some steps to do a restart - geez clearly they are not testing software before they release it.
I’ll try the restart and report back.
You
Should call them and report this. Too bad as our 4Xe has been pretty much perfect.
I wonder where they are doing the dev and testing. Off shore I bet.
I’ve been in software / engineering all my life both for a vendor and as a retailer.
The worst results come from off shore. I literally had to teach the vendors off shore staff how to code certain modules and also how to build scripts for regression testing.

That is wild as that is the build date of my car and it is a 2022. They actually had it as a 2023 on the app but window sticker said 2022.

Is yours also having the issue?
I have a different issue. I have had the screen go blank one time did a reset seem to work.

My problem is when I get out and hit charge now on the screen or charge later I go and plug in and the whole entertainment center turns back on plays music etc. If I don't touch the screen it will still turn back on but will shut off after 30 secs. Really weird. Not software.
Just got my case escalated by Jeep. Took it to the dealer all it threw was a Wifi code. So they told me nothing they can do.
(Jeep was not happy they never opened the case to the engineering team) I have read SOOOO many problems about Uconnect.

Mine has done this - it’s software - they need to fix it. I just open the door and hit charge or cancel and it goes off. They have goofs writing code I think.

If you think we have problems go over to a Volvo board. These car companies all jumped on the Android / Google bandwagon and there’s weird stuff all over the place.
