Hopefully you both will have it resolved completely soon. My neighbor has been making fun of me because I go under the jeep every few days or so to wipe things off or clean the underbody to check for leaks. There was some oily runoff the first few days but it's been exactly a month and 1,000 miles since we picked her up from the shop and no more signs of oil.
pshh... neighbor can make fun all he wants. You're just making sure the problem is completely resolved so reliability doesn't come into question! Glad so far you have 1k of trouble free miles. Hopefully this trend continues!

Ugg I'm in the same boat waiting for a new trans driving a crappy rental. First noticed the leak around 200 miles at 1200 now. I'm not liking how many of these stories I'm hearing.
At least the diagnosed it and they're gonna do a trans replacement. On our end we had 4 visits for the same thing since December. It may be a 5th. Our new advisor told us if it still looks week in a week or so, bring it back. I just checked and its definitely covered in oil again. But were going to wipe it all down this weekend (couldn't check it because it was wet anyways from the heavy rains here). I am just happy we have a proactive advisor, even if we have to drive an 1.5hrs away.

Finally got on the line last week for the first time with a Jeep Corporate representative. They have now started the usual spiel of calling me twice a week with incrementally better warranty+cash offers, yet completely unacceptable in comparison to the vehicles value loss. So now it’s just a matter of me saying no to their offers for a couple of times before they’ll agree to the buyback/exchange route. Once I get to that point (and if not through this process then I will through my lawyer), I will opt for a non-4xe Wrangler with the 3.6l. Not putting myself through this crap again.

Totally get it. I would be pissed too. My better half still loves her GC 4xe, so we're gonna roll with punches for now. Fingers crossed our new proactive advisor will be able to push for replacement trans or something. Honestly buying this vehicle on a first year production run went against everything I know and avoided in the past. If she wasn't so pressed to get this vehicle as a tax write off, we would have waited. On the flip side she also was so fuel economy conscious so it kinda fit the bill if it worked as designed. IMO I would have waited in hopes of the I6 to be put in it.. the 3.6 is adequate but to have a little extra would be nice for the GC. I'm not a technology geek either. So I like the concept of PHEV and what it can offer, but not sure the technology is quite ready yet. My wrangler had the 3.6l and it was adequate in stock JLUR form. But even running it on 35s and heavy wheels ate power on long climbs. 8spd was great minus highway hills mountain climbs at highway speed. But never had an issue with its power train for the 14k miles of long trips to and from the trails all over the southwest. But also in 2019, i refused to order it in diesel or 2.0L form due to wanting a simple tried and true motor. It did well. Still have it today, but nothing on it is stock anymore to include powertrain (somebody came up) and it's kind of a trailer queen. Hang in there brother, keep us up to date and wish you the best. Regardless I'll catch you on the jl forums. Your tag name sounds familiar on that site too!
