Our 4xe quit charging a couple weeks ago. Was level 2 charging at work. Now level 1 at home nor level 2 at work will charge it. Been driving it until dropping off at dealer tonight. Ours does NOT have a check engine light on. Outer blue lights blink and service charging system error appears on dash. Will keep updating here as dealer updates happen.

Hi Katie, sorry to highjack the thread, but this problem seems to be happening to a lot of people. Has Jeep been able pinpoint what causes the problem or what the remedy/fix is? So far my 4xe has been in the shop for about a week. I have not received any updates from the dealership for a solution. I don't believe the mechanic knows how to fix the no fault charge. (I see unsuccessful charge attempts from the uconnect app.) Any advice that I could relay to them? With gas prices increasing and paying close to 75K for my jeep I am getting a little frustrated with this whole situation.

Got a call from Jeep customer service, who is going to look into finding one of the backordered IDCMs. Let's see what happens from here.
9 days later and no progress from the specialist @JeepCares. Got an email saying that the specialist had changed to a different person, with no follow up call on securing a replacement IDCM or when my $60K Jeep might be working again. Tomorrow it will be SIX WEEKS since the Jeep hasn't accepted a charge, and since the CEL first turned on, and since it's largely been parked for fear of the Jeep losing all power at high speed, as some owners have reported.

I took the Jeep out for a slow drive around the neighborhood, running only in ICE mode, and for part of it the thing strangely wouldn't shift out of first gear -- high revs, really loud. Not sure if it's related to the faulty/shorted-out IDCM.

You need to contact a Lemon Law attorney in your state. That is beyond unacceptable they will not bring it in for service any more punctually than that.

I'm having issues receiving both error messages a CEL and battery stays at 1% or less. Trying to use a Level 2 charger at the moment and getting all messages. Level 1 at home stopped working to charge vehicle. What can be done?

Sounds frustrating, DannyJ. We would recommend bringing your Jeep to the attention of your preferred dealer so they can dig into this with you. If you need support while there, send our team a private message.

It's now over seven weeks since my 4xe would take a charge. Dealer says the part is back ordered. Jeep HQ customer service says they'll "call me back tomorrow morning" and 20 days later I haven't heard a peep. I called them again last week, asked for my specialist to please call me, and nothing.

Taking Jeep to dealer this week for them to fix leaking/burning engine coolant. Mechanic told me the first time they couldn't find anything wrong, even though the service advisor identified the obvious smell of burning engine coolant. Now the coolant has dropped below the minimum fill line -- so the 'I can't smell anything' excuse won't work. Sheesh.

27 days since my customer care specialist at Jeep was going to get back to me with an expedited ETA for the replacement IDCM. Over 8 weeks since Jeep shorted out while charging, shorted out my Jeep EVSE, and stopped taking a charge from any EVSE/charter, Level 1 or Level 2.@JeepCares

Took the Jeep into the local dealer last week because the burning coolant smell has not gone away, and I was concerned one of the coolant reservoirs must be almost dry, which would surely cause more damage. The service advisor at the dealer clearly smelled the burning fluid on this visit, and apparently so did the mechanic, and they thought it would be a coolant leak in the heating block found behind the passenger side dash. They pulled the panel and found no leak. They ran an overnight engine coolant pressure test and found no loss of pressure. At that point they turned their attention to the broken IDCM and found that the coolant system used to cool the IDCM part was damaged. I don't know what temperature control system it is, but it would be very bad if the battery pack is not being cooled. I have no way to tell from the UConnect app or the dashboard what the temperature of the battery pack is.

The net net is that the dealer says the problem will be fixed with the new IDCM, which they say is expected on April 17. We'll see if it arrives. Below are photos of the work orders done on this last dealer visit.

They said they saw no leakage in the above, and did a pressure test on whatever cooling system the IDCM uses. (But there must be a small leak, as something is burning.)
Jeep headquarters customer service called to say that the IDCM has arrived at my local dealer. The dealer hasn't called me yet. I'm going to give the dealer the chance to do the repair and see what happens. In the meantime, every time I turn on the engine I can smell the coolant burning.

Finally got a call from the dealer, a week after Jeep customer service told me the part was to have arrived. Booked for service next week. I never heard back from Jeep customer service, my emails and phone calls go into a black hole. It's been 10 weeks since the Jeep shorted out, stopped charging, and started smelling of burning coolant.

4xe went into the shop yesterday to have the IDCM replaced. At the end of the day my smart phone started lighting up with Uconnect notifications, toggling between "Charge started" and "Charge fault". This went on for an hour until I'm guessing the guys went home for the day. They left it unplugged all night, we'll see what happens today.

Meanwhile Jeep executive customer service has said that they will not buy back the vehicle, presumably because it is "fixed". We'll see what today brings. I don't want to own this vehicle any longer because I'm afraid the battery pack is damaged from not being cooled properly, and from the IDCM shorting out.

I haven't even asked for a rental for three months, and they're giving me the Heisman...geez.
