Has anyone made the switch from stock tires to 315s? If so, what was the impact on your gas mileage and electric range?

Thinking of swapping my 33s (stock Rubicon) for some 315s.

Thought about going to 35s, but the damn thing did so well in Moab on 33s, I decided to wait until those wore out. Guys running non-4xe models seem to drop a couple of mpgs going to the bigger tires.

1-2 MPGs is something I can totally live with. I’m just concerned about losing 4 or more…

Why would bigger tyres cause the fuel consumption to increase? Bigger tyres = higher gearing = fewer engine revs, the opposite of going from a Sahara to a Rubicon?

Larger tires generally have a higher rolling resistance = more effort to move the car = more gas required for that effort
