As I await my 4xe (will not let me have until recall is completed) I really can’t wait to get it home.
From what I can gather, it seems Jeep put together a really good product until about 90% of the way.
Sort of pushing it off the assembly line and crossing it’s fingers..
I understand they are great but can have their issues.
I am wanting to get about 7 to 8 years out of this car and do just over 10ks per year average.
Are there any 4xe,s out there that have comfortably done 30k miles or more without any issues?
I hope so! (Fingers crossed)😆

We have a 2022 Summit 4xe currently at 37k. We had no issues other than typical recalls until 36,800 and then the main high voltage EV battery failed. Fortunately it was still under warranty. Just got it back from the dealer but hoping to get many more years/miles out of it.

Purchased my 4xe June '21. Only problem during the 1st 30k miles was the 'death wobble' about 21-22k miles but that's a jeep problem, not a 4xe problem. However this month, at 52.5 k miles, my HV battery failed and had to be replaced. Repair/replacement took about 3 weeks, dealership struggled to get me a rental but did so. Have had it back 4-5 days now and have noticed a slight increase in available miles after charging. (old batter showed 24 miles, new battery shows 26.)

My '23 Trailhawk has been really good so far. Just under 30k miles on it. Outside of the handful of recalls, there hasn't been any issues that I read about on here. It's been a really good vehicle so far. Not gonna lie, getting the 95B recall almost made me trade it in right away due to buying a PHEV and not being able to plug it in. I love having electric and gas options. Really thinking about going the all electric route when the lease is up on this one. See how the next 10 months go. We will see what happens.

It looks like 21-22s are the POS based on the number of posts I see flying around. You still get a post here and there about 23-24-25 models, but that is because either Dealer didn't follow with the recall or the person didn't. 23-24-25 from my understanding are fixed, tweaked, corrected quite a bit which is why a lot of people don't complain about them. Gotta understand one thing though, no matter how many people on forums or FB groups, not many will come on and say "4xe is awesome" as a starting topic. Ppl online come and complain, not praise things. So there might be 50k of complaints, but in reality theres a million satisfied customers.

I personally have a 24' with just 15k on it, 2 years ownership and so far no issues. Love the torque, love the speed, love that I can manage in what mode I drive it, modded mine with 37" tires, lift, and this thing don't complain about any of it. That said, I would lease a 4xe, not buy one and that is the only reason because you have to test drive it in a life style, vs test drive it for 10 minutes off the dealer lot. It might change your mind or confirm your worries of not liking this type of setup.

Also, because 50k vs 1 million complaints, the value tanked. In the end its not the market value of the Jeep 4xe but the value to you that matters. If after 3 years or 2 years or whatever of leasing a 4xe you fall in love with, keep it for 100k under warranty or beyond. 4xe is a vehicle that truely matters based on a person, not its value in 10 years.

Just like older Jeeps, TJ/LJ for example, some love it for what they are, how easily you can work on them, how long they last, etc.. but to others they aren't practical. They hold their value, but not value to some. Why they stop making them and pushed out more practical ones.

I'd like to think I have a unicorn! ;)

I have a 23 with 17k miles... so it's still 'young' I guess. I've only had a rear power liftgate issue and a fuel pump issue. Both were fixed under warranty and the fuel pump was a self inflicted issue because I ran out of fuel. So I'm generally very happy with my 4xe. For sure I won't buy my 4xe back at my current buy back value... however, if I could get a good deal, I'd definitely want it back after lease ends.

I do agree this is probably not the type of vehicle that can last us 200~300k miles given it's complexity... plus, they'll likely be easily totaled by the insurance companies in accidents given their rapidly depreciating value... and rapidly increasing labor cost to repair them... not to mention expensive batteries...

It's just that for now, it is a very ideal car for us. For wife to use it for errands around town(saved us tons of gas)... and to pull our camper during camping seasons(something pure EVs can't do well). If only Jeep could nail down reliability... or at least address parts shortage better. I just can't believe every time when I need a part, whether it's some module for the liftgate or a fuel pump, it'd always take 2 weeks for the dealer to get the part! It's as if Covid is still happening with Jeep.

Anyway, if it can be more reliable... or if Jeep can stock up on parts better... 4xe would be the perfect car! For me at least! ;) This has been my 1st ever Jeep. It has exceeded my expectations, but I have to say I was expecting for the worst though. I knew Jeep is not Toyota and 4xe is something brand new... so considering all that, I think Jeep has done a good job, but obviously there are still room for improvement.

I guess this car is fitting for modern time? It's very polarizing... people either hate it or love it. I know I don't have the perfect unicorn, but I'm solidly in the love it camp.

23 Trailhawk with 25k miles. Other than the recalls, had the secondary oil pump in trans go out at about 15k. We used it as a plug in the whole time it has been owned. We off road in it, tow my boat and my wife does her daily commute in all electric. It wears many hats for us and are happy with it. We bought outright so hopefully it lasts many years

2023 rubicon 4xE 48500miles 37” tires. So far it has been great. I am pretty rough on my jeep with long commutes and weekly offroad beatings.
I just had to take it in for warranty work for all pulleys going out and ruined belts. Water pump went out and I’m pretty sure the power steering is about to go. I look at it like this…. Pay for the extended warranty from Mopar. And make em regret sending out something that wasn’t ready to assembly line.

Thanks guys for your comments, they are very Reassuring.
The latest recall has been completed and I am picking it up today! Very excited.
I love the fact that’s it different (rare in Australia anyway) that I can take it up fire trails in the high country, but also quietly cruise around town in electric.
My wife has told me to stop buying new cars😆 so hopefully I hang on to this for a long time..
As on paper it does everything I want in an large SUV.

Like Billi I’m driving a 23 (Trailhawk) with 17K miles. Except for oil changes and recalls, I‘ve made no dealer visits for any repairs/replacements. I’ve owned many Jeeps over the years. My first Jeep bought new was a 78 Jeep Wagoneer. I used to say it was my favorite Jeep; however, I now have a new favorite Jeep in my garage — one that’s charged by solar panels.

Got her home today😍, recall done yesterday.
Will take a bit of getting used to.
Looks great on the road and very comfortable.
Infotainment system is no BMW but fairly decent.
The auto park did not work..almost crashed it!
All in all seems pretty well put together, do wish the electric range was a bit more but still ok.
Getting it ceramic coated next week.

2021 JLURe, early build (march or may 2021, I forget!)

80,102 miles as of today!

Recalls were done only 1 took a couple weeks because of the battery pack replacement etc.

Dealer replacement:
Replaced steering damper around 55k. $225
Replaced tires with another set of KO2s…got a great deal from the dealer (under $225/each w/2 year warranty (same as damper)

On my 2nd windshield as you may also experience. Houston highways are evil!!

There are 3 “spots” where the dash is rubbing off (wife sits with her feet propped up in the dash!) and the drivers inside door handle…wedding ring catches that all the time. Center console lid has “elbow marks” where the material is “stretching”.

other than that, me and Judy are great!

'22 Overland here and haven't had any issues other than having recall or recall induced issues. No issues until the 95B recall was done on my Jeep. Then I get intermittent hybrid system failure warnings. I feel the hybrid system stop but then the software reboots from what I understand and all is fine, i just keep driving and have hybrid drive. Have ~45K miles on mine

Wanted to share our recent trip in my 24 Trailhawk 4xE. My wife and I drove from San Diego to Ouray, Colorado, to attend the 38th annual Ouray Jeep Jamboree. It's a little under 900 miles each way to Colorado, plus we did two full days of 4-wheeling with the Jamboree.
Felt a little out of place as the only current-gen Grand Cherokee in the group, but had no problems keeping up with the lifted Wranglers with 35 and 37 tires. Obviously, we didn't tackle the super challenging trails, but we made it to the top of both Ophir Pass and Imogene Pass without any issues.
The Grand Cherokee ran perfectly out and back with no issues. I started hearing some sway bar noise, which wasn't exactly unexpected, since we all know the sway bar has problems. Luckily, it only made noise on the off-road sections; on the road, it still remained quiet.

It was a fantastic time to be in Colorado, in the San Juan Mountains. Lots of fall colors were popping out everywhere. We were able to explore quite a bit of the area between Ouray and Silverton, both on and off-road.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk has 41k miles on it, including one coast to coast trip in the US and a lot of four wheeling in between. I have had one issue where the heat did not work (fixed under warranty) and one highway shut off of the engine fixed by the recall under 73C. Overall it has had about the same issues and number of recalls of my wife's similarly aged Toyota Highlander. Overall I am pleased with the vehicle and plan on keeping it for 10 years or so. Best of luck to you!
