Finally took possession of our 4xe yesterday.
As I visually inspected the Sahara at the dealership yesterday,
I didn't notice the backup camera glass was cracked.
In all fairness, neither did the dealership.

It wasn't until I got home and had the car in the driveway
did I notice it.
I put the car in reverse to back up and noticed the screen looked muddled.
I go back to the camera and see the glass cover is cracked.

I immediately reached out to the dealership to tell them what happened.
They are supposed to get back to me today.

Does anyone think they will replace/repair this issue?

I should have done a better job of inspecting the car but
then they should have as well.

Thoughts?

I can't say I've ever looked close enough at the glass on the backup camera during an inspection that I would have caught it. I'd be surprised if they didn't take care of it.

i'll take my share of responsibility that i should have done a better job of inspecting the vehicle.

the 4xe had just arrived onto the lot.
unloaded off the truck.
they inspected it, took it for a drive, and washed it.
when i arrived, it was charging so we didn't take it of test drive.

pulled out of lot and home.
no need at anytime to put the car in reverse.

wasn't until later that evening when i noticed it.

i hope they do.

Don't worry... if you're anything like me, you'll find a chip here or a ding there that makes you think "how the hell did I not see that?".

I think the best way to do a thorough inspection for damage on a vehicle is to hand wash it. That's always when I find things... of course, it's hard to convince a dealer that you need to wash the car in their parking lot while taking delivery. 😅

I learned after buying our Jeep you gotta take extra careful inspection during delivery.

They should cover it, a replacement camera is not expensive really as you would think.

just got a call from the dealership
they will take care of it
asked me to bring the JL tomorrow morning to get a replacement.
