Each Key fob connected to specific driver profile?

Our Summit 4xe came, of course, with two key fobs. On other vehicles I’ve had with smart entry, each key fob would set the seats, steering and mirrors for whoever the fob was registered to. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but when my wife has driven the car and then I try to get in it, my fob does not automatically bring up my seat, steering and mirror settings. My wife is significantly shorter than I am (almost a foot), and getting into the car is impossible without resetting the seat. Also even though she has her setting checked for easy exit with key off, the seat only goes back a short distance even as the steering wheel does go up. It’s enough for her to get out but not enough for me to enter. My easy exit takes the seat all the way back and down and the steering wheel up. Is this normal. Shouldn’t our fob be recognized upon approaching the car and seat, steering and mirrors all be set for the appropriate driver?

Linking the keys to profile is a separate procedure, meaning that once you set a memory position/profile, it is NOT automatically linked to the key you are currently using.

However, even when you follow the instructions to link the keys to profiles, let me warn you that this is known to cause issues. This has been reported by several owners and is a reason why I did NOT link my keys.

Instead, I simply press the memory button before getting in.
I have followed the instructions on linking the fobs that is in the owners manual but it doesn’t seem to function correctly. I will attempt to do it again and see. Do you know what problems can come from linkage?
You say the problems have been reported. Do you mean on the forum and if so do you know where or how I can look for it? I know this is not a huge deal, but it is an inconvenience that seems like it should be functioning. To get in the car it is far better for me if the seat is all the way back and the steering up, which is what the easy exit does after I’ve driven. To simply push the 1 profile on the door just before getting in brings the seat to my setting, but it’s not the easy exit/entry position but forward with steering down.
What I heard is that it might change the actual setting of the saved seat positions.
Here's an example from a few days ago:

Uconnect 5 memory seats gremlins...
Ahh. I’d not seen the thread you posted about the gremlins. That thread describes exactly what I’m experiencing. And we as well experience the issues apart from the fobs. So we will wait hopefully for a software update to address the gremlin. It really should work. Other vehicles I’ve had certainly worked with the fobs.

I hate this! Our wranglers don’t have power seats but I deal with it in my wife’s acura everytime I forget my fob and use hers. I don’t want to open the door and sit there and wait for the seat so I just get in and crush my legs. It’s infrequently enough that I forget how bad it is and make the same mistake every time.

I feel your pain. Need that automatic fob seat detection.
This is a problem! I HAVE ALREADY RETURNED a GC Overland with this issue because the dealer could not correct it. I have since talked with one other dealer with the same issue.
I have now heard that this is a problem with the key fobs. Anyone else having this problem?
I'm on my 9th Grand Cherokee...when you link the fob to the profile you have to do it all at the same time. Many times it won't take the first time or second time...I have had to do the procedure 3-4 times before it finally worked (this was either on my 2014 limited or my 2011 Overland...I can't remember which). I think the manual says this or at least the old manuals stated that you may have to do the procedure a few times before it all links up. When I say in a row I mean right after....don't wait a day or two and try again and call this the second or third time....it must be consecutive with no waiting period between possibly 3-4 times...before it actually works.
2006 Grand Cherokee limited: tried to program aftermarket fob (I have both original) key they cut I programmed according to YouTube Opened door wouldn't stay running & magically the blower motor stopped working as well as easy/exit Don't know how it could be related put 2nd original key blower worked 5 sec then shut off Locksmith said reprogramming would do nothing to correct it Help Easy/exit/entrance I can deal with No A/C in Midwest summer no way lol
