Hi,

Sorry for my English.

I'm a French owner of rubicon 4XE (2021) and I'm really disappointed by my vehicle and by customer care in Europe.

I bought my Wrangler in June 22 and one month later, the shock absorber has to be replace. I wait more than a month for part delivery to my dealer shop.
2 months after, the AC compressor failed... more than a month to get the part.
3 months after, the electric engine didn't want to work.. (Electric mode unavailable). The battery cooler has to be replaced.. Another 5 weeks without my wrangler waiting at the dealer shop the delivery. During this repair, the dealer has updated my wrangler with the latest update and the ZB7 recall.
Since that, I'v been using my jeep for a week and now :
  • full charge gives 36km when starting the vehicle instead of 42km as previously
  • In electric mode, the range is now below 20km.
  • In electric mode, there's no horsepower anymore, the vehicle accelerate super slowly
  • In electric mode, driving at 100km/h, the thermic engine will start and shut down sometimes with no reason.

So I came back to the dealer shop, who told me that he has to ask for Jeep Support because he has no clew. He made a ticket and he's waiting for the answer. Once he gets the answer he will contact me to make un appointment.

So from June to now, my wrangler has been more than 8 weeks at the dealer shop..

About the customer care in Europe : it is one of the worth customer service I have ever been through : During the 5 weeks my jeep was at the repair shop, I call and wrote many times to the customer care. When you call, you speak with the first support level in Eastern Europe that will take your message. Your message is transferred to Jeep customer care in Italy. After many calls and letters I've made, I had one call from the customer care support in Italy to tell me my jeep was going to be repaired... and guess what, this call happened 24h hours after I took back my repaired wrangler from the repair shop !!! Great customer care !!

Even the dealer shop told me that relationships with Jeep are awful !!

I'm so disappointed about my first jeep. I'm considering changing it with another brand.

I made that pool to know if I'm alone in the darkness of jeep problems.

Cheers

Pretty common. Just search ZB7 update here and you will see a lot of people with problems. Most are with hybrid systems. Some parts were already bad, but did not generate a check engine light until after the ZB7 update.

Which is to be expected, since part of the ZB7 update was changing the reporting of the ech lockout so that it throws a code. Doesn't have anything to do with battery heating or cooling through.

The battery cooler has to be replaced
Do you know the part number of what was replaced? The battery cooling is handled via the a/c system... it's likely this is related to your a/c compressor failure.

just look up ZB7 here and do your own research
Of the people that have reported ZB7 related issues, what behavior have you seen that looks like this? Most all of the ZB7 related issues are check engine lights due to locked out ECHs or roasted batteries due to techs failing to follow procedures.

In this case, the battery obviously isn't roasted, since the jeep drives and the ech isn't locked out, since it's in electric. Instead, there appears to be a reduction in capacity and power output to the electric system, immediately after the vehicle being in service twice for items that handle the thermal management of the battery.

@tonino , if you drive in electric and pull up the hybrid pages to watch the power flow to the motors, what kind of peak power draw do you see?

Hi Antonin

Please see my other posts in various threads , Jeep” customer care “ in Europe are completely hopeless and I’ve had similar issues to yourself . Communication is dreadful and the poor supply of spare parts in Europe is beyond belief . I have been waiting for a battery coolant pump since 9th January , my car has only done 1000 miles and was only delivered to me in October 22 , it’s been longer in the dealer than I’ve had the car !!
i have had two Jeep Wrangers previously , both of which had been excellent . I love the Rubicon 4XE when its working, but we need a proper spares back up and vastly improved customer service, maybe even a company who actually value their customers and keep you informed .I have Been advise to expect my car back shortly , it’s been off the road for approx 70 days so far !

good luck with resolving your issues , hopefully someone at Jeep reads some of these posts and vastly improves the service they provide European customers or they may have significantly less of them very soon .

I have my 4XE back from Dealer Service for 2-Days now. Yesterday, 30 KMs range from 99% charge, a significant reduction from when I had Electric Mode soooo loooong ago. I did have cabin heat on though.

Sorry to hear of problems with your Unit in France. Canada Cares Customer Service and Dealer capabilities has been atrocious here.

Another term learned here; "Bricking Samsung Cells". If this were the case, I'm sure there'd be a code thrown for it.
I have technical details in-mind such as as isolating the PIM during certain service procedures but, no thanks. Giving research a rest.

Operational test continues . . . . .

That will kill your range. The ech uses a ton of power. Last time it was below freezing here, my normal 26ish mile range cut down to about 15 miles from remote warming and then driving with the heat in high.
I will give it to Jeep whatever Heater they put in there can turn the car into a Sonae. It gets HOT and fast.
