Howdy All,
I've never been on a Jeep forum before, but I've been browsing this one the past week or so due to some issues I've had with my vehicle to hopefully get some insight or relate to others with the same problems. I bought my Wrangler 4XE Sahara back in June. It's a March production model. I've absolutely been loving it even though I miss some things about my FJ Cruiser

.
I drove to Dallas and back from Austin on Thanksgiving with no hiccups. The next day, I started my Wrangler to head home from the grocery and the engine kicked on immediately despite having a relatively high charge percent. Figured it was a software glitch, switched to e-save and moved on. CEL came on 3 mins from home at around 7600 miles. Damn. Local dealership was able to get me in this past Thursday. They fixed the recall that was out, retorqued the lower ball joint nuts (an issue I had no idea was there), and did several software updates. They told me that the CEL code was P0C74-00 "Coolant pump stored," and that after the updates and a drive test the CEL did not come back on so I was good. Picked it up yesterday.
Fueled up after getting it back, noticed a gas smell later in the day towards the back left rear of the vehicle. I figured I may have gotten gas on the jeep when fueling and didn't think anything of it. That night after a bunch of driving, the CEL came back on heading home, so I checked the gas cap when I stopped. It was loose so I tightened it, but the light has not gone away after driving ~20 miles today. I'm not having the same initial issue of the engine kicking on during startup or anything, nor any other issues it seems. I thought I noticed a slight decrease in MPG, but this could just be paranoia.
I'm obviously going to get it back to the dealer asap, but does anyone have any insight on the issue or a similar problem(s)? I've read so many horror stories here, so I'm getting anxious about not having a car to drive home and see family for the holidays due to dealers not giving out loaners. Also just disappointed about the reliability on my first brand new car ever. Thanks!
