Has your 4XE been fixed?

I had numerous problems with mine starting with 160 miles on it. It was a horrendous experience especially after shelling out all that money and trading a completely reliable low mileage 2011 Rubicon in the process. But after a month or so, things seem to have been ironed out and I now have 1600 miles on it ( in 2-1/2 months) with no problems in 1400 of those miles. I was starting to turn blue from holding my breath so I've relaxed a bit and even took it off road a couple of days ago.
So, with so many posts on the site about problems and little posting about the resolution of those problems, it may be past time for those who had my experience to weigh in on the resolutions. How long did it take? Was Jeep Cares and Kate any help? What was your vehicle's problem? Etc. Etc.

I'm about 1800 miles in. So far, I've had a check engine light that they say is from the gas cap recall issue. Also, Android Auto is almost worthless since it does not want to connect or loses the connection as soon as you touch the phone. I haven't been able to pin the Auto issue on Jeep because of the known issues there. Other than that, loving the electric option and it fits my lifestyle (short commute, etc.) very well. I also got rid of another JK Rubicon for this one.

Do you have more info (TSB#) on this gas cap recall?
Not yet but my dealer said it's been issued. The cap does not seal properly and the check engine light is triggered. I also had the stupid cap just fall off. Known issue and the recall is coming. Now if they could fix Android Auto....

Are you connecting to the USB, or USB-C? Or are both not working?

Next check your cable, Android Auto, and Car play will need a cable that supports both charging and data transfer, check if your cable is only made for charging.

Usually the cables provided with your phone support both charging and data transfer, the cheap cables we sometimes buy off Amazon, or at the gas station, are only wired to charge the phone, and if they are only charging type cables there is no way car play/auto will recognize your phone.

I use the usb-c connector with the iPhone, and that seems to work fine, I also use the cable that I got with my phone.
I've tried a few different cables and bought the expensive ones just to be sure. Same issue. Android auto has a known defect where it loses the connection and it looks like it's the cable. They recently issued an update that was supposed to help. Sometimes mine works fine and sometimes it doesn't want to work at all. My salesman tried his iPhone and that wouldn't connect either when I bought the 4xe. I'm going to wait it out a little bit and see what happens. There are a lot of articles on the internet about Android needing to solve this problem. There is also a wireless adapter and I might try that also.

I am also curious about this. Mine check engine light just came on. I have been able to loosen the cap, start the jeep (gas mode by being in gear), turn it off, tighten cap and then go on my business. it has turned off twice. This last time it has stayed on now for 5 starts. I hope it is just something dumb as everything seems to work perfectly fine with it.

Im also wondering if the issue is with the console usb versus the one on the dash. The only issue I have is with the console usb. I have used the same usb cable on the dash and it has always worked fine. The console one decides to randomly disconnect apple auto and just charge the phone.

Early build Sahara with ~4000 miles. Check engine light has been on pretty much perpetually since 1,000 miles. The code is Evap leak, so waiting for FCA to find a fix for the gas cap. We’ve started ignoring the light. It’s also clicking like crazy under low speed steering, dealer said it needs ball joints not just tightened but replaced. They’re back ordered, so Jeep Cares is helping source and schedule. I checked the fuses early on, several were not seated so hopefully doing so avoided additional issues.

I have a Rubicon on order, the Sahara is making me a little nervous about it but as long as it gets sorted I don’t mind being an early adopter. I want Jeep to electrify all the things and they won’t if we don’t buy them.

I had the same code and the dealer told me it was the gas cap. They told me it is due in mid-september. For some reason, mine has stayed off for a while now.

I did not notice the difference between the two USB ports. I have been seeing articles about Android Auto issuing multiple updates so I think they are trying to figure it out. I also read that certain phones are more susceptible than others. The pixel phones in particular seem to have more problems.

My dealer has told me December on the gas cap solution. Maybe I should be going to your dealer :)

What’s also funny is the first time we brought it in for the evap code the dealer was like, “We have chrysler engineers who have called us today knowing your vehicle is coming in, they’re paying attention and working on a solution. We’ve been on the phone with them all day to help get this sorted”

That made us feel sort of accommodated and even important. Then we brought it in again and got the exact same line about Chrysler engineers reaching out. So it’s either just a thing they say, or Chrysler is really on top of this. (My money is on the former).
I have a cel that comes & goes that when I used the torque app it tells me "ignition switch accessory position circuit high"

When I took it to the dealer a few weeks ago, they said it was an ABS wheel sensor fault, and they reset the sensor.

Still have the CEL. I can clear it, and it can be gone for several days, or it can come back immediately.

I have also had a couple times where it went off on its own.

Has not seemed to affect anything else.

My service department makes me feel like I'm more a nuisance, lol. But that's usually the case with most domestic brand dealerships.
