Hotspot for Rear Entertainment (Phone vs vehicle)

Took delivery of a Trailhawk with rear entertainment. I don’t have much experience of using my phone as a hotspot. My question is: with two kids in the back would my phone work well enough for the hotspot or do i need to pay att and get the service through the vehicle itself.

Depends on your phone, network, and data plan.

On my Verizon phone with a good 4g signal both kids can stream on their fire tablets whatever they want... But... On my unlimited data plan, that only applies to 15gb per month (might be more now) for hotspot usage.

We opted for the built in att option as it was cheaper and unlimited hotspot for the car. Let's me save my phone hotspot data for when we are away from the vehicle.

It call come down to this, plus how much of your data plan you already use.
I'm using the AT&T built in option as well since I'm already using lots of data with the dashcams which are constantly streaming.
