Trying to make things more convenient for my wife as she is the one using the GC daily shuttling kids around, I am looking at adding a holster to place the J1172 connector closer to where she pulls into the carport each time.

I have seen holsters like this:

Where the EVSE is located on the house vs. where she parks is maybe 15 feet, but when she is in a rush, I am trying to set things up so that she doesn't place the connector on the ground where it potentially could get run over when she is pulling in or out.

Does anyone have a similar solution?

I was looking at that one, but since most of my cable would be on the ground, out of the way of any wheels, I don't need the cable hook.

I was also looking at maybe ordering the ClipperCreek holster, but its back-ordered, and I don't think the way it hooks in from the side will work for my application mounting it to the carport beam.

Has anyone looked into or been able to secure their L1 chargers. Looking for ideas so I can leave it in my carport without being jacked.

If anyone has access to 3D printer there are a lot of options on Thingiverse, including just a mount without a cable hanger - J1772 Mounts on Thingiverse

To secure the L1 charger you could do something simple like this:

You could also install a lockable outlet box like this: Lockable Outlet box

Or you could install a larger outdoor lockable box to put the entire charger in like this: Lockable Outdoor NEMA 4X enclosure

Ended up building a post to mount the holster I picked up from Amazon. We didn't want to mount it permanently anywhere just incase we found that it something we didn't like or use.

We had some treated 2x4s and a cedar 4x4 in the shed. Just built a frame around the base of the column to prevent anything from tipping over. Nothing was drilled or secured to the existing structure.

This came with my Grizzl-e charger. Seems to work well at a fairly cheap price (not sure about shipping). Allows you to coil extra cable around it too.

I was going to recommend the Grizzl-e version as well. Don't have to be perfect on putting it in to latch....and works great.
