Just got my jeep back from the dealer for the recall. One of which was inspecting the fuse.

I was pretty sure they had to open this panel to check the fuse.

There is zero evidence of them taking these screws off.

Without having put paint marks or something beforehand, it might be hard to tell. They get installed at the factory without leaving obvious tool marks so it's conceivable that the tech got the screws out and back in without scratching them up.

This is the pic I took before I dropped it off.

I’d like to take a moment. In honor of the best stellantis tech that ever existed.

I’m friends with the owner of this dealer, and he would love to know if his tech is really good or really bad. That is some really good work if he actually opened it up.

In your full resolution original picture, can you line up the positions of a few fasteners? Basically see if the points line up before and after. Theres no way that would happen if the panel was actually removed.

Any stellantis techs have the official procedure?

I want it checked but at the same time I don’t want to compromise any seal because I thoroughly enjoy hosing down my interior.

Also not sure of the practical risk to me or my vehicle from the fuse.

Here's the pic my service tech sent me when I requested it when I dropping it off for the Z71 recall. I believe the flanged screws on the 200 Amp fuse are what they are looking for. View attachment 9729
Wait so are you telling me the recall is because the factory used the smaller screws on the left for the big fuse? In which the holes are nearly as big as the screw head?

What is it with stellantis and fuses!

Hmmm maybe I should check it myself. Not sure what sealant I should use on the panel, maybe silicone.
Disclaimer, I have been burned by a large lithium ion battery, I know what they are capable of. It was only a 52v battery and it was significantly more violent than 110v AC. Working with that fuse is like working on the power lines.

My daughter sits directly above that fuse and if there was ever an arc I’m pretty sure it would vaporize that entire enclosure.

I wouldn't check it myself, if only because it'd give them reason to not warranty a very expensive future battery replacement.
Mostly just concerned about safety, but I’m a realist. Not sure how to judge the risk.

After being exposed to the power of DC current, that battery scares me.

Ok so chemistry and sealants is not my wheel house, what would you guys use on that panel if I were to take it off to inspect? Knowing that my interior gets wet and I have kids sitting above that panel.

I almost would rather do it myself because I know it will be sealed.

Also I don’t see any signs of sealant on that picture of the open cover. That’s odd.

I believe the cover has a reusable gasket and that if you lift the cover, there is a pin attached to it that inserts into the battery. I assume it goes to some type of disconnector. All of this is speculation and zero first hand knowledge.

Also slightly off topic, but did anybody feel a slight bump in power after the recall?

I like to think my butt is pretty well calibrated and it feels like it gained a 5% power bump in EV mode. If I read this post from someone else I would definitely think it was all in their head. I wasn’t expecting a change in anything, it just felt a little different.

It was almost like a lost a little bit of EV power over 4500 miles and post recall it came back.

Unless of course, they actually changed the bolts to the fuse! Seems impossible it would looked untouched and all the screws were in the same rotational position.

Hi, I have a 2021 4xe High Altitude. How do we know if the Jeep is impacted by the recall? My app only shows ZB7 and ZD8 recalls. I have a visit this week for those two and wondering about this fuse recall.

thanks!
