Rattle noise in front end/engine compartment

I happily took delivery of our new 2022 GC 4xe Trailhawk last week and have loved every minute with it. Unfortunately, I'm noticing a faint but persistent rattle in the front right side at slow speeds and on bumpy pavement/roads. It doesn't seem to be the suspension as large bumps and potholes make normal road noise whereas the rattle sounds like a rock rolling and rattling in a plastic jar. I've checked under the hood and nothing is loose. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Will likely bring it to the dealer for inspection next week...

@JeepCares I have the same issue as SRQ4xe and have had two separate dealers look at the front end of our 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trialhawk. We just got the vehicle back and the dealer is claiming this noise is normal. No way is this noise normal. They simply got tired of trying to diagnose it and wrote some BS on the ticket. We have 34000 miles on the vehicle now and will be taking it to a third dealer in a few weeks. So far they have change strut mounts and tie rods. I have had all the brakes check and there is no lose pads or pieces. I believe it may be the same fix as SRQ4xe and would like to know how I can relay this to the dealer? As I am near the end of the warranty I want it noted somewhere that this is an ongoing issue and should be Jeeps problem to fix even if they cannot determine the fault until after the warranty. Do I have permission to use a snap shot of SRQ4xe post to point the dealer in a possible known solution???

This is super frustrating and any mechanic that states this is normal needs to be retrained.

I just bought a used 2022 GC 4xe with 15000 miles 2 months ago and mine has the exact same metal on metal rattle when driving down a dirt road or Phoenix city streets which in some cases the dirt road is smoother!! I purchased my Jeep from Bill Luke in Phoenix and took it in 2 weeks ago. It was completely covered with 5 day rental they say they replaced lower control arm (bushing) and front drivers strut. I guess they did not spent 5 minutes test driving over some sharp bumps because I picked it up and drove home and heard the noise the minute I hit my dirt road. Honestly you guys should be calling out the dealers that are not getting these fixed. The dealer is getting compensated, the mechanics are getting compensated but the customer is LOSING. It costs me 3 hours between drop time and picking up time. For them not to resolve this the first time is bullshit! It sounds like a sway bar or engine mount to me. I have taken the tech for a drive twice to demonstrate the noise and it is clear as day annoying over small cracks. The tech said it might be the brake pads; are you kidding me, loose brake pads only on one quadrant of the vehicle? I am a hobbie metal fabricator / welder and auto mech and know the sound of heavy metal on frame noises. I have replaced my brake pads and rotors on my last 5 vehicles. Even without spring tension brake pads do not make noise. I have lost a ton of confidence in Bill Lukes service dept and I am angry because they have wasted hours of my time and they sold me a 4x4 vehicle that sounds like the engine is going to fall out on a dirt road. I might try one more time but then I would consider a lemon law complaint. And I would probably buy a pathfinder.

I have a 2024 JGC TH 4XE. I am experiencing the same issue as everyone else here; popping/rattling coming from the front center/right area, so essentially the sway bar area. It only happens after the vehicle is warm and has been driven for about 15-20 minutes. It started happening when it had about 500 miles on it.
I brought it into the dealer where I bought it, and they said there were suspension parts that weren't torqued to spec. They torqued them and gave it back to me. Obviously, this didn't fix it. I made another appointment, this time at a different dealer, because I thought they were going to give me a rental, which they didn't. I told them about the info from this thread and told them it is likely the sway bar. They just got back to me and concurred, there is failure in the sway bar and sway bar links. I will pick it up in 3 days, when the sway bar comes in. I will update once I drive and confirm the noise and popping is gone.
Side note. I think it's bulls$%t that they don't give a loaner or rental for a vehicle that has less than 2,000 miles on it and has an obvious manufacturer defect. Stellantis, get your crap together!

Today I picked up my 22' GC Trailhawk from the shop. I've had the "clunk" since right around the 1,000 mile mark (and it's been a consistent issue for the last 2.5 years and 14,000 miles) and this was my 4th attempt (across 3 different dealerships) at getting someone to even acknowledge the issue. First time I was told "it's a jeep, of course it clunks" - at the time i thought they were joking, but maybe not - but they couldn't replicate the issue. Second time they couldn't find an issue. Third time told it was probably related to the pinch bolt recall (it wasn't).

I brought it in with pretty low expectations this time - and I wouldn't have bothered to bring it in at all if it hadn't been due for an oil change and the latest recall. Other than the sway bar issue I really like the car but this is obviously unacceptable and have decided that it's going back when my lease ends in January (my sympathies to the poor unsuspecting soul who becomes the next owner). I've already bought a replacement from another brand and this will be my last stellantis product. Don't know if it's true but was told today that there's a TSB coming for this issue although I wasn't given any other details and was told no repair had been identified yet (I really hope this is true and they're eventually able to help everyone else out there with this issue). They retorqued both lower say bar end link nuts (didn't help) and said they couldn't do anything else, but they at least acknowledged the issue and that's further than I've gotten in the last 2.5 years.

As a side note, is Jeep service absolutely abysmal everywhere? WITH AN APPOINTMENT it took 3 weeks for them to do basically nothing on the clunk issue, do an oil change and the latest battery software recall update. Calls and texts to the dealership asking for status usually went unanswered, car returned to me filthy, they didn't even refill the washer fluid. Are my expectations too high? I know I'm getting far superior service from other brands; clunk aside this is enough for me to not want a jeep anymore. No loaner or anything of course, if I didn't have another car to use I would have been furious.

Already had my sway bar assembly replaced once and the mount for the electric motor that connects / disconnects it (because it snapped and created "The Clunk"). Recently took it down a bumpy highway and the sway bar rattle is back... Is there a fix for this? A delete? Does disconnecting / reconnecting tighten it back up?

The sway bar assembly, deffenley, has a built-in defect. I'm on my third sway bar in 20,000 miles. Doesn't matter if you use the disconnecting feature or not; mine went bad in the first 5,000 miles, with no off-road use. Luckily, my dealer has correctly diagnosed the issue each time and ordered a replacement. It's been taking 3 to 4 weeks to get a new assembly, but I can drive the Trailhawk while waiting.

Update from my post above.
For a review, had the same noise that everyone here is complaining about. I dropped it off on 23Jul25, and I just picked it up yesterday, 06Sep25. They originally said 3 days. But finally got it back. More to follow on if it's fixed or not.
We're glad to hear that the repairs have been completed. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please send us a private message.

Welp, NOT fixed, after replacing the sway bar and sway bar links. Almost seems worse. Now, instead of the rattling only happening after the vehicle is warmed up after 15sh minutes of driving, now it rattles right away. Unbelievable. I am dreading bringing it in, because it's going to take forever and I'm going to have to convince them there is something wrong.
Come on Jeep, you're better than this!

I have the same exact problem. Only does it when warmed up. It has done it since day one. It started on the passenger side and now it’s on both sides. They are about to replace the tension struts for the second time. The first time it helped but didn’t fix it. Now they are saying they are loose is why they are replacing them. It will be 3 years old next month. 23K miles never off road, never disconnected the sway bar. When is was new I bought max care 7/100k. I don’t know what to do. I’ve heard it could be the sway bar motor rattling inside the housing. I also wonders if it’s the air. Struts
