Got my soft top 4xe last month and wanted to install a rack to carry my kayak...could not do it. All cage racks mount where the plug is located. Finally found a solution - American-Made Overhead Hitchmount-Rack | Mission Systems

Check it out...carries two kayaks easily. Huge relief...if anyone has had similar challenges, check them out. The owner Pete is a vet and a really nice guy. Got my rack in less than a week.

Looks great! Does the soft top go fully down with the rack on? What is the distance between the crossbars? Wondering if I could mount recovery boards and hi lift jack.

For me, I would really prefer the hardtop. However, it looks good and it seems really convenient on your end.

I assume you have used this several times now, how has it felt driving with your Kayak? Still feel positive about this? I am strongly leaning in this direction since I am getting a Sky One Touch, but still need to carry two kayaks from time to time.
