The towing capacity is 3500pounds which is just shy of 1600kg (1587kg). So towing 2000kg would be over the limit if something bad happens. That being said, there is no difference between towing with 5 miles vs 5000 miles so no need to wait.

Sorry , i checked it for the Hybrid Wrangler and Jeep changed it to only 1587 kg ...sorry again for wrong info but check your car registration for towing as well.
Hello to the Netherlands , Ja du kannst deinen Trailer ohne Probleme ziehen. No Problem to tow your Trailer. the weight limit of 3500 pound is only in the usa/canada .
If you have in Europe the Offroad Pages with the Uconnet Radio you can watch the gauges to check the Temperatures and Oil Pressure or as well on your dashboard.

ONLY for North America ! 3500 pound
Rest of the World 5500 Pound with 2.0 turbo automatic. some regions are lower some even higher. same with trailer towing speed limits to trailer weight.

Well that’s very interesting! Is there a different hitch assembly in your country? I’m asking because, if you can tow more with the actual frame, then the limiting factor may just be the hitch provided by Jeep in the U.S.

Ok, so maybe the 3500 pound (1600kg) limit IS related to the frame. If the max you can pull in the EU is 1500kg then maybe it’s a structural limitation. In the US, the Wrangler has been set to 3500 pounds for a long time and the newer Gladiator is 4500 pounds. My small truck (Chevy Colorado) is rated for 7500 pounds so I am a little surprised that the mighty wrangler 4xe can’t compete.

just remember max 3500 towing trailer match is 85% max by the rules of towing savely. or roundabout 3000 pound trailer weight total. The Wrangler Hitch is only a Class 2.

i rechecked the 4xe tow rating for Italy/Swiss/Netherland/Germany and its now ONLY 1587 kg (aka 3500 pound) ..what a joke from Jeep to cut off 900 kg .

I’m wondering if engine break in is the question,as past tech I would put 1,000 or so miles before I stressed the engine,I still change oil that came from factory at 1,000 miles then go to 3,000 mile interval.oil is cheap change it,especially with turbocharger.
