It doesn't happen every time but some times I get like a video game chime. Does anyone know what this is I am just curious.

Thanks,

I thought there was another thread on this somewhere (but might have been the 4xe fb group).
Last I saw no one has figured it out. It’s very sporadic and has only been happening for the past month or so. I’ve had my GC 4xe since September.
Someone record it, please. Even with the latest updates I have not heard any Mario Kart sounds.
I’ve been paying attention and I can tell you what it’s not.
  • Wireless Android or car play connection
  • Wireless charger connection
  • Rear seat warning
My working theory is that sound is made when starting the vehicle and battery is at 100%.
But that could be wrong as well

Lakitu telling you when to mash the gas pedal to perfectly time the lights and get a boost to beat the other cars off the line?

Don’t worry if you get it wrong, he will be there with his fishing pole to put you back on the road if you go sideways off road.

Can confirm it ain't the rear seat warning. I remember one of the running theories was rear seat warning, but recently with my kid in the back, that sound did not come on.
But I do know it was not there after I first got the car (Nov 2022). It started after one of the updates in the last couple months. Is there a changelog/update log we can refer to and maybe that'll help narrow it down?

I see you too are a Man of Culture. Funny enough, there is a certain timing to mashing our GC accelerators, lest you want to suffer awkward shifting during acceleration.
I’m fairly certain the “bliiiing” sort of Mario Kart coin noise is happening at start up when the battery is full.

I'll have to pay attention, mine always leaves the garage with a full charge and I cannot recall hearing a “bliiiing”. Then again if I hear it so often I wouldn't make a note of it.

I just got into my car charged overnight and I didn't get that sound.
But does anyone else have a issue where audio from Uconnect (nav, music, phone) sometimes goes out then have no audio until you shut down the car for a few minutes and restart it?

Ahh you just wrote in the FB group. I just commented under yours.

I will try to remember to record when starting up.
Pretty sure your theory is right it means full charge. It didn’t do it when I just cranked up
Well the full battery theory is not right it just did it with 72 percent battery life. So weird

I have not tested and tried other states, but I can confirm there was a bing noise (not sure I would call it mario cart) when I started the car with 100% battery and in hybrid mode. It bings once if started with the seatbelt on and 5 times w/o the seatbelt ...

Me too got in today full charge in the way to work and it didn’t make the noise.

2 drives for me today (100% and 30%) got the sound both times. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Heard it today for the first time on the Summit Reserve. Vehicle was NOT at full charge at that time.

I noticed that the vehicle was in "Accessory mode" when I heard that sound so I pressed the start-button without hitting the brake first.
I heard it just now, when I was leaving to pick up my lunch.

I unlocked the car via door handle, got in, closed the door, put my seatbelt on (I originally thought if it was an additional notification for seatbelt), pressed the brake, and turned the car on. It made that sound. Car is in electric mode. This was the start-up after charging up the car.

Maybe we can narrow this down by sharing the conditions when hearing the chime.
