I think it would depend on your driving style. if you're doing a lot of short drives the 4xe will last longer than any gas equivalent because you have so much less combustion happening all round. you're also going to have less brake exhaust and even possibly transmission work thanks to the electrified portions of the design. so your maintenance costs over 10 years will be somethng like half that of the ice version. that could amount to 3000 dollars or more easily. not only that, ev repair is going to be a lot more commonplace in 10 years, and its actually ice mechanics who will start to be in short supply by then. (almost all manufacturers are going ev only you know) already, for my chevy volt my local non-chevy mechanic is handling that volt, and doing a great job, at alost 40 percent cheaper than when i used to take it to chevy. and he can do whatever it needs done to it, and thats even more of an EV than the jeep. The jeep 4xe battery is on the small side too. so even if you eventually needed a whole new battery (you wont until something like year 15) the cost would be well under 5k for a reconditioned one, and it might even be a better battery than what is in there now. anyways, i just think too much has been made about repairs and longevity in these things, and cars like the chevy volt have proved that these are very inexpensive vehicles to own over the long haul. All that being said, of course you can expect the first 2 or 3 years of ownership to be a little rocky, as this is a new tech for chysler and parts and technicians still are still getting up to speed for the demands of the consumer. mine has been in the shop a bunch of times for electric heater issue, FORM issues. all are resolve now although that was fairly frustrating tbh. but the technicians are starting to finally understand the car and fix it a lot quicker than when i first bought it. Lastly, also consider resale value. if you decide to sell a 6 or 7 year old jeep, you're going to have a lot more buyers for one that can drive as an EV than one that cannot. thats just a simple fact of the matter that more people are going to want some kind of ev moving foward simply because whenever gas prices go to high, you're going to have an amazing demand window to sell the vehicle for top dollar. if you dont do a lot of short drives, and cant plug it in regularly obviously don't bother, just get the ICE one, cause a lot of the benefits above will be completely negated. good luck!
