So, I've got 2023 GC 4xe. I'm pretty sure the ECH is going out or it's already out. My dealership and case manager don't have any idea what's going on with my Jeep. Is there anyone on here that's had the ECH replaced...should you provide me with the name of the dealership and service rep that helped you with your replacement. My Jeep won't go into electric mode. And I'm almost sure it's the ECH. So, if anyone can provide with the information I would greatly appreciate.
Thank you

Just picked up my ‘22 JGC Overland today afrer ECH light went on last week. After the dealer confirmed the defect, he told me ill have the part by Thursday (12/28/23) but can only have specially trained mechanic this week to fix it. Dropped off my jeep last night and got a call today that it was fixed (as promised)!! Covered under warranty, no more ENGINE light. Also was told I could drive, went to Canada last weekend, no issues! Good luck. Thumbs up to Joe B and his team at Contemporary JCDR in Milford NH!

After several visits to the dealership and spending a great deal of time convincing the service manager that the choc(cabin heating or cooling) message is not normal I got my battery coolant heater replaced on my 22 gch summit. I just picked it up today. Now the car only blows warm air if the engine is running. If I switch to electric mode the air turns cold after about 2 minutes. Service manager says there is probably an air pocket in the coolant line. I’ll see what they think tomorrow.

I had this issue a few months ago. The Check Engine Light itself came on and I have the symptom's some people have here where the Electric mode stops becoming an option due to Heating/Cooling. I also saw it was never drawing power in the flow diagram on the display.
The Diag code, from my check engine light then, was P29BB.

But I'll admit since then, and maybe I just did not notice it last winter, but the heater performance on battery power is really poor. I do see it drawing power now in the flow diagram, but it barely keeps the car warm. But, I'll actually, when it stops raining, go check the coolant levels and see if it happens to be really low. I would expect a light though if that is the case.

I have this exact problem. They tell me everything is working fine. I have to hit esave or sport mode to turn the ICE on to get heat. No codes though. Arghhhhh

Several weeks have gone by after ECH replacement. Heat won’t work in electric mode and was just dealing with it. Dealer started another star ticket after the light came on last week. I sent a buyback request letter to mopar. I doubt that will happen.

Do you the part number of what they replaced? In a previous post, you said you had your battery coolant heater replaced. The battery coolant heater and the electric coolant heater are two different things. The electric coolant heater is the one that causes issues with cabin heating in electric.

I haven't been on here in a while.....The first week of February, I got the infamous P29BB. I had it as a new code and a stored code. I cleared it and it came right back. I wasn't in FORM and 1 week prior I had an Oil and Filter change. I contacted my local dealer (not who I purchased from, my wife is active military and I'm retired military) and they said April 2nd was the soonest I could get it in. I said unacceptable, I scheduled the appointment then called another dealer about 30 miles away in a large city. They got me in 3 days later. They said it was the Electric Coolant heater but....they had to do about 12-15 hours of flashes before they could replace the part according to Jeep. I dropped it off on a Friday, and they worked on it Friday and Saturday. Monday afternoon about 2pm I called them. They said they were just getting ready to call me they replaced the ECH and added some coolant and its ready to go. I couldn't believe it. We picked it up and it's been working well. We have 11,3xx miles on it. Purchased in October of 2022. Everything else has been good so far...we do have the clunk in the front end since new...sway bar disconnect I assume

My 2022 4xe had the same issues and it was the ECH. Rev'd high, would not go to electric mode and was just wasting gas. I went to my dealer, Lawless in Woburn, MA and they replaces the ECH and it has been fine. I had roughly 16,000 miles when this started to occur. Sounds exactly like my issue. Also, the screen would read electric mode unavailable interior heating or cooling.
