Just asking a clarifying question here... you did not need to buy the Trailer Brake Controller (82215834AC), which means you did not need the jumper 82216416AB mentioned in the trailer brake directions (which looks like another whole headache in itself), and everything was able to be connected and working correctly (after contacting MOPAR).

You mentioned an aftermarket brake controller... Did you install that, or was that also the dealership?

I am asking because we don't need the brake controller for our use case. It seems that the parts listed on your service sheet would suffice.
No factory brake controller. No other parts were installed that I am aware. They did run the wire for an aftermarket controller to the driver foot area, but I didn't use it. My brake controller is wireless. I have the Curt Echo. It's controlled by phone via Bluetooth. I also have the optional wireless button for emergency braking.

Perfect. I am not sure why the installer/parts counter kept saying I NEEDED the jumper until I started looking at the install instructions for the Brake Controller, which I don't want and don't plan on installing.

I will keep the wireless option in mind if we ever tow a trailer with electric brakes on it.

As an update, the dealer recommended taking the vehicle to a local Hitch Service center which (apparently) they utilize for most installations. I did purchase the OEM brake controller (82215834AC) and the controller wiring accessory (82216416AB - required for vehicles NOT equipped with the XF2 sales code from the factory). Having these new OEM parts and the dealer-disconnected 7-way harness, I had the service center perform the install. When I picked up the JGC, all systems were online and was told the 7-way tested good. Getting in the vehicle to leave, I noticed the odometer blinking... The service center does not perform any programming, contrary to what the dealer told me, and suggested that a blinking odometer indicates a needed oil change (facepalm).

So I drove the vehicle for a couple weeks, without issue - aside from the odo blink, and just this weekend, the safety systems started going offline intermittently between driving sessions. It seems, in the morning, all systems are good, however after parking somewhere for a short while, they are offline the next time the vehicle starts.

I currently have an appointment with the same dealer this morning to try and resolve the issue with the safety module and blinking odometer (without disconnecting the damn 7-way harness). I have done everything they asked me to do up to this point, purchase the (necessary - according to them) brake controller and have it and the 7-way installed at their recommended facility. I was assured the dealer had already added the XF2 sales code even though the blinking odometer would tend to indicate otherwise.

Will update on dealer progress.

I was hoping others who completed this install - or had it completed by their dealer, might be able to provide some insight as to what additional dealer steps were necessary, that are not published in the provided instructions with each OEM kit, to successfully complete the install and activation.

The dealer was able to successfully "fix" my JGC, completing the successful installation of the OEM harness. The blinking odometer required a module resynch. As for the CADM safety module going offline intermittently, the technician noted that an error exists in the instructions for the pinning of the 7-way harness (82216041AC). A single wire was pinned incorrectly, and he provided no further details. I suspect that the pinning for D6631C is wrong in the instructions dated April 6, 2022.

For those of you hoping to perform the install yourself, I recommend you do not, at least not until Mopar produces a revised instruction set. Have your dealer (if willing) perform the install, that way if there is any issue with the installation or programming, they will resolve prior to delivery. In hindsight, I should have opted for a dealer install. All in, I'm out almost 3k, which is nearly twice what some dealers will quote (provided they can get the parts).

Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I asked the local dealer for a quote and they wouldn't give me one. There are three other dealers within 100 miles, so I had options.

Why did I decide on an OEM installation? It's an expensive vehicle with sensitive systems and it's important to me that the vehicle knows when it is towing. Certain safety systems must be disabled and the shift map of the transmission changes, keeping temperatures at a safe level. As well, I'm sure the dance that occurs between the two electric motors and the ICE is modified to keep those systems within an optimal power band.

The local hitch service center offered to install a 7-way aftermarket harness for less than $300. NTY
