Help - Fuel Door Won’t Open (Spring Loaded Piece Fell Out)

I hope I’m in the right place. I have a 2023 4xe wrangler. When I filled my gas tank last the spring loaded piece that pushes the fuel door open fell out and I hadn’t realized it until I closed my tank. Why oh why did it still allow it to close.

Now I can’t open it and the manual opener in the cargo also can’t open (there’s no spring loaded arm to push it open.)

Help! I’m stressed 🤣

You can try to access the fuel door from the inside, by removing the left tail light. To remove the tail light you have to unscrew a large plastic torx screw that is located under the plastic cap near the base of the C pillar.
Alternatively, you could ask a friend to pull the emergency wire while at the same time you open the fuel door with a pry tool or other hook-shaped tool.
