My electrician charged me $379 for the install including all labor and materials including a new breaker and outlet. It is about 15' away from my breaker box. I could have done it myself but as usual it would have taken 4 trips to Home Depot and I would wonder if my house would burn down or I violated any electrical wiring codes. Instead I drank a cold drink while I waited the hour for the install to occur then plugged in my Grizzley and was charging away.

There are so many variables, it would be impossible to say without getting into the details of each job. Rough estimate…
$500-$1500 or more. Like me, $2100. I needed to upgrade from a 100amp panel to a 200amp panel. Village codes required it because I had no more room in the 100amp panel. And in doing so, the outside meter must be upgraded as well. That required the utilities to come out, shut off the power, then return after everything was rewired and turn the power back on and inspect all the work. So of course permits, lots of time, materials and so on. That did not include the JuiceBox 40, which I paid $600 for. I got mine hard wired into the garage. We ended up keeping the 100amp panel in addition to the new 200amp and reworked some of the bigger draw appliances to all go on the new panel and the basics on the old one. We ended up replacing the old 100amp with a new 100amp because of its age and some burned breakers that were unknown to us. When you start upgrading old electrical, it gets expensive. But now our home is safe and up to date. And we have lots of space for more breakers if we ever remodel or add on. Money well spent.

Best thing you can do is run your own cable snd just have them hook up both ends, more than half the price us them crawling around and drilling holes in 2x4s. Lots of online tools to estimate your cable gauge to length.

I estimated my line with a 60 amp pull because I foresee future cars wanting more amps…4AWG, was $200 just for the cable but most of the cost is labor so why not future proof it.

Also check with your state, my state offered a tax credit 50% of the cost of my install.

I originally was quoted about $1000 from Qmerit, called a local electrician company (Fresno, CA) with great reviews and they quoted me $200. The plug is located right by the panel which is exactly where I wanted so that probably explains the reasonable cost. I have had no issues and they did great work. They only took about 1 1/2 hours to get it up and running.

I just got 2 bids. One is $1500 the other is $1750. The run is about 50 feet, 3 conductor cable, NEMA 14-50 outlet. Guess I’ll be buying the Juicebox 40 next. My utility company has a rebate up to $750 for a WiFi enabled charger so that’s sweet. They also offer a rebate on the installation but I’ll have to see which is better theirs or the tax credit from the feds.

got a quote today, 550 for the install ( i will install the Grizzly-e myself). the panel is in the laundry room inside the house right next to the garage, they will go up in the attic, fish the wire from there to the panel, then another down in the garage - i estimate about 22 feet of copper wire run on a 50 amp circuit. I already bought the NEMA 6-50, but these guys said its the same charge for N14-50 as well. wish i got the quote before i ordered the Grizzly-e.. o well. could have done it myself and probably would have cost me like 100.. but i am lazy so there is that

$780 here outside of Boston to have our Level 2 charger installed on the side of the house. I originally wanted it mounted on the fence or a post closer to the driveway but that would have required digging and added $2k to the project... I'll live with the slight inconvenience of it on the house to save $. I still need to install the holder for the cable, right now I'm lazy and been coiling up on the hose rack

We got a 50a circuit installed, with an N6-50 receptacle, about 2 feet from the main box in the garage, for ~$220 (install and parts).

Then like a couple of the folks above, I'm running a Grizzl-E, 40a, N6-50 and it's the Smart model (24' HD charging cable, WiFi). Great product, beefy construction (comes out of Canada), even the mounting bracket is nicely designed (big 2-piece SS bracket with a pin release). We got ours before any of the price hikes, and when the Smart option was only $40 more, $479 delivered (direct from United Chargers).

Not doing a whole lot with the Smart features, flashed new firmware a few times, and fiddled around in the reporting function (where you can track usage, etc.)

FWIW, this charges both our 4xe (32a max, the built-in J1772) and our Tesla M3P (40a, using the Tesla supplied adapter). Works perfect for both and easily shared.

Electrician just left, $275 for a 220v and a 110v gfi outlet install with parts. They are literally right under the box so it took a bout 45 minutes start to finish. I still haven't pulled the trigger on the level 2 charger I wanted to get. It's between the AMPROAD iFlow P9 package that has an adapter for 110v or MUSTART. I want a portable Level 2 with options since I plan on moving in the next few years.
