My 24’ PHEV needed a new transmission after 175 miles. Bought on 2/2, it’s been at the dealership since 2/13. Service manager today told me it’s ready and a remanufactured transmission was installed. I’m struggling to accept a reman on a vehicle with less than 200 miles. @JeepCares is a complete waste of time. After waiting 2 weeks for my manager to call me, she told me there’s nothing wrong with the car and was closing the case - even though there was an active Star case at that time. Dealership offered to pick up payments while it sat for 6 weeks, but they’ve quickly gone quiet and no longer respond. @Jimma2 @Marktroy19 @Yawnie'sPapa @KTT Any updates on your situation?
You aren't going to get "new" anything when it comes to engines and transmissions, and frankly, they carry the same warranty and hopefully the issues that caused the first to fail have been resolved with the remans.
I don't know of any company that puts new engines or transmissions in.
I have yet to see anyone who has had a transmission replaced have repeated leak issues, and all that I've seen were reman.

Been loving my 2023 4xe Sahara but was disappointed to learn it needs a completely new transmission after about 5k miles (and that the initial ETA is mid-June). Dealer said it was an issue where some transmissions just rolled off the line warped and said this is the second one they’ve seen like this. Looking through the forum, I’ve seen a few similar posts. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with their 2023 as time goes on? Thanks!
We had the same problem. We noticed it dripping oil onto the floor of our garage at about 5000 miles. We took it into service three different times. eventually, they determined that it was the transmission that was leaking. It took us over four months to get it back. We will see how the new transmission holds up.

Wow, that 4 months makes me feel lucky. The back and forth between service manager, Jeep STAR and their regional technical rep took almost as long as the replacement itself.
Once they had the transmission in hand (or on a pallet) it took only 3 or 4 days (but I suspect the SM called all hands on deck by that time)
It took a few days, no more than a week, to get it.
If I recall correctly, they had it for less than a month total, start to finish.
That was around last November. It's been totally dry to this point, no issues at all, functionally perfect as well. No hiccups, no mistakes.

I've posed in another thread but ours was cracked as well. I'm hoping it comes sooner than some of the times others have waited. I guess we'll see. 6 business days so far....

Update. Rig has been at the dealership going on 6 weeks. No ETA on a replacement tranny. Wife is not happy and she is now talking to the service guy. We have a trip planned in August and when she asked if it would be done by then, the answer was probably not. (so there must be something known and we are not being told.) If in fact they are going to just put a reman in it, it shouldn't take this long. Crazy. I'm far more patient than she is and she questioning the choice to buy a Jeep again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Replacements are remanufactured units. I don't understand the hold-up as once our SM fought the powers that be, the actual process of getting a transmission took only days. Once Jeep relented and released a transmission, we had it in about a week or so. I think the whole process was maybe a month - I'd have to dig into my date records.

My expectation is that it's a reman but the service guy is talking like it's a new one coming directly from the manufacturer.
Latest update is the replacement tranny is supposed to arrive in early July. But.... you knew that was coming... install will depend on if the dealer has a "certified" tech than can do the install since this will be the first R&R they have had to deal with. Service advisor's words. 8 weeks to the day at the dealership so far.

I have already been advised by the wife unit, if the rig has to go back to the dealer for any reason, she is done with it. So we wait.

I'll bet on reman. They always say "new" and talk like new, but that's not how these things have typically worked for decades now.
But seeing the success rates of the new units, I'm fine with reman since it has the same warranty, etc.

Update: "new" tranny arrived on July 1st as stated by service writer and said he would endeavor to get it done soonest. Of course with the holiday...it might be next week. It's now next week and no call yet but he's got a couple days to go. He usually calls on Thursdays so I figure the call will come tomorrow stating it will be done "next week". :ROFLMAO:

Last update: Wife picked it up yesterday. 11 weeks. Did the defrost recall and they managed to fix the broken rear window defrost wire as well. Good as new other than I would have thought they would have gave it a bath since it sat outside. Maybe I expect too much.

The CNC machines are programmed and maintained by humans, all automation is designed and implemented by humans, all of the robots are - you guessed it. Stuff happens.

Hello,
I have 24 wrangler 4xe rubicon that's leaking transmission fluid on the back side. Took it to a dealer after notice it at 900 miles. They replaced transmission pan gasket, told me all was good and releases the vehicle. I drove it and noticed the leak back after couple hundred miles. Took it back at 1300 miles and I am waiting on dealer to tell me what is the next step. Upon reading all of the forum, is the only fix replacing the transmission? If so does anyone have issues of a leak after getting the reman transmission?? Thanks in advance!!! ( First three is the first leak I noticed and last two is after dealer replaced the gasket) *Dealer wont provide loaner Jeep care case is open but no help from them at this point. No one called back yet.

My 2023 4ex Sahara was leaking transmission fluid after about 17753 miles. The dealership said I need a new transmission. Presently, the dealer is replacing the transmission. I'm not sure what the issue was with the current transmission. I'll let you know after I pick up the Sahara (with the new transmission).

How long did you have to wait for the transmission to come in??

I'm not for certain when the transmission arrival at the dealership. Because the contact person stated the service person ordered a new transmission pan first. Then about 4 days later she stated the service person ordered a new transmission. Today makes 13 days the Wrangler has been at the dealership. Because I was told the transmission is being replaced today. I'm hoping I have my Wrangler back sometime next week.
