I’m with you. This is my 5th jeep wrangler starting in the 80s. Loved them. Kind of wish they’d go back to the basics and get things right. Probably my last wrangler for both the poor response from the companuu to as well as hawling my frame in to the car is getting more difficult as I head to my 70s😎. But for a hybrid I enjoyed it. It is perfect for around town not using any gas as I go off road each morning to take my two springers hiking in the woods. And local errands. Just fix it. B

I originally posted this a few weeks back on another post but seems like it belongs here.

Yes I've finally thrown in the towel on Jeeps for now. I purchased my first Jeep in 1997 a Jeep Wrangler. Since then I've owned 5 Grand Cherokee's including the last one a 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit. My son an daughter have also owned, Patriots, Compass and Cherokees. up until the GC 4xe that all have been flawless. Maybe I made the mistake of buying something new to the market. I ordered this GC 4xe as soon as the buying window opened in early January of 2022. That was my first mistake as I was told it would take until April or May to receive the Jeep. Well that stretched out to 11 months and we didn't get it till December of 2022. Within a short time , recalls began happening including a warranty issue of a voltage reduction module that failed and stranded us until road service could arrive and get us started. That fix took 6 weeks of the jeep sitting at the dealer waiting for the part. Then the recall for the bolt in the steering which could fail. Then having the driver assist fail which required a new steering wheel that had to be ordered.
The straw that finally broke the camels back is the latest recall of the Jeep being a fire hazard with no immediate fix in site. Call me crazy, but that did it. the vehicle has been traded in for a new Ford Expedition. I'm done with the hybrids until all the bugs are worked out of them. I've had on before and now have one again

I had a jeep dealer offer me $29k for my '22 Rubicon. ...I said no. Haha
Yea they are full of 💩

One was trying to get me to trade in my 2021 for 2024, I asked what does the 24 have that my 21 doesn't, he said oh it's got a nicer radio, to which I replied, so you want me to pay $40,000 Canadian dollars for a radio.

Just wanted to say thank you to Clutch Auto Deals who patiently comments on so many of these posts to provide, clear fact based information.

I think I fall in the middle of spectrum with these recall. Totally bummed I cannot use the car the way it's intended as obviously was willing to pay a premium for those features. Annoyed about parking outside during the winter. Dissatisfied with Jeep's communication and lack of any efforts towards goodwill except for those who can spend hours navigating the Jeep Cares phone line and pay in advance for a rental. And probably done with Jeep for any future purchases for a while (I had to lemon law my prior Jeep!).

I am not anywhere near hair on fire status, appreciate we had be to told as quickly as possible even without a remedy and understand the statistical unlikeliness to be impacted by battery fire in the near term. Realize all brands have recalls. Trying to learn my lesson on early adopting new vehicle lines.

However, I am also not of the "it is what it is" camp, just drive your vehicle till the fix is available and stop complaining as there is very clearly a legitimate (albeit rare) safety issue at play, and the very systems for which we paid a premium are those that are unusable.

There seems to have been so much opportunity here for Jeep to get in front of this with apologies for inconvenience, gas cards, easy access for rentals to those who cannot park away from structures, and any number of other things to acknowledge the inconvenience and safety risk to a pool of customers who were willing to adopt their new technology. Instead, it's just silence from corporate, confusion from dealers and abysmal customer service from Jeep Cares. Approaching two months post recall (which follows the comparable recall for Wranglers a year prior) with no end in sight, such a missed opportunity for Jeep to continually let those willing to pay 50-80k on a vehicle just twist in the wind.
Well said Rose,

I posted the below in a different thread but it probably belongs here.

I have a somewhat unique situation based on what I am seeing in this thread. I have a brand new 2025 Sahara PHEV on order that is currently in the production stage. About 2 weeks ago I received a shipping date of 12/3 which has since been pushed back to the end of December. I called the dealer and they were a bit elusive only telling me that no vehicle with a recall can be sold but stopped short of telling me that the recall has been remedied. So my question is, would Jeep release 25's without correcting this issue since obviously the 25's aren't recalled yet? I would like to think that they wont release the 25's without a fix in place but it seems like 24's have been added to the recall since they first knew about it and those were sold.
I own a 2021 Wrangler 4xe. I too was impressed by the specmanship of the 4xe. I thought to myself. The best of both worlds... Turns out that Jeep is NOT delivering on their promises.

These things sound great on paper... I would wait until Jeep proves it out on the road and the people on these threads are satisfied with Jeeps customer service...

I for one am not satisfied. There is a risk involved with purchasing an 4xe from Jeep, and that risk is inversely reflected in the price.

Don't assume that you will get a car that performs to spec until they prove to all of us that they can produce a car that performs to spec. Hold them accountable.

Same for my 21 Sahara 4xe, another dealer and CarMax offered 28k. I got a quote from Carvana for 33200, which I tried to accept but the Jeep dealer who sold me the car did not put my lienholder on the title. I had to pay to get that corrected and now we are waiting for the lienholder to get the title in the mail. I lost the quote.

This information, posted on another thread by JeepFanChicago (thanks!) that contains the updated repair schedule:

I talked to my dealer’s service manager and my Stellantis Case Manager today; neither one of them had this information. Hopefully, Stellantis will take the lead from Jaguar on how to take care of their customers (thanks jan.aarsaether!) concerning a defective product they sold:

I actually just bit the bullet and traded mine in on a 2023 BMW X5 x45e. Yes the 4xe value is down but so is the whole used car market, and the BMW had depreciated much more than my car so it worked out fine for me in the end. Loved the Jeep but the recalls were just annoying.
Little tangent but, how are you liking the x45e?
That was also in my sights when I pulled the trigger on the GC 4xe.
I'm kinda regretting it now, but definitely considering the X5 next. Better run company too.
This is just sad and frustrating, because the GC 4xe, when fully working, is really a NICE vehicle.

Nothing made after mid November of 23 is subject to the recall. Samsung changed suppliers for the separators (the part that causes problems) back around April of 23. It's only battery packs from before that that are potentially at risk per the NHTSA filings.

Long story short, most 24s don't even qualify for the recall, much less the 25s.
Thank You Sir Clutch!
That's way more information than anyone else seems to have or divulge right now.
Makes sense too with the timelines.
And with the slowness of everything, I bet Samsung needed to pilot test the poop out of the new separators. And Stellantis is probably pushing all the new pack volume to production first
I don't see us "normies" in the field getting pack fixes till mid Q1 2025.

Just checked and my 2022 lease has a residual of $45,804, but my trade value is $30k and private party sale of $35k - Jeep will be taking a huge bath on lease returns of these vehicles.
Honesty? Good.
Maybe they'll learn something from their debacles. But I doubt it.
Stellantis seems incapable of learning.

This is good news, but still a serious issue. That’ll be 3+ months before JGC owners know what’s going on, and there’s still the matter of addressing the vehicles in need of service. So, I’d be surprised if my leases, which are up in May, are serviced before March. Just in time for spring.

Updated battery packs have been making their way into vehicles in for service for a while now.

Jeep is a mess right now. Customer care takes weeks (yes, WEEKS) to get in touch with you for these cases, and then has very little to offer. The 95B case managers don’t even have the authority to provide any additional information above and beyond what you’ll read here. They’ll say they can give you a month of rental and $100 in gas for each month the recall persists. But then they’ll transfer your case to the “rental department”. More waiting.

Then, after I mentioned that my lease is winding down (6 months to go) and that it didn’t make sense to throw $1500 on a rental and gas for what could be the duration of the term. So, their financial liability, aside from legal liability if something were to happen with these vehicles (both of ours are under recall having been produced in 23), is substantial. Substantial to the point that what they’re willing to pay out is essentially a wash for what the lease payment is for at least one of them.

So, I mentioned that I would like to speak with them about early termination of the lease without penalty due to the fire risk and financial trades on the table already. My Jeep case manager said that I should speak with Chrysler capital and said they had the authority to grant that request. So I called Chrysler capital to hear that they’re just the financial institution and have no authority to do so. So, yeah, the bank doesn’t know what’s going on, Jeep doesn’t know what’s going on, and the dealers don’t know what’s going on.

While on the phone with CC, they suggested a “solution” for me… They said I could trade in the car at the dealership and that would release me from financial liability for the last 6 months. I literally started laughing on the phone at the thought of jumping into another vehicle from a Jeep after this experience. Effin bank doing effing bank stuff… She also said that I could get out of the lease without any issue. All I do is drop it off at any dealer without inspection, they pick it up, they auction it off to the highest bidder, and I am financially responsible for the Delta between the residual value in the contract And the actual sale price. Again, LOL. I’d wager that would put me between 8-10K upside down. 😂 that makes zero sense for me.

Anyway, so everyone knows and hears it from someone who spoke with Jeep just yesterday, they will reimburse you for a month of rental after you open a case and take care of paying for the rental. It essentially works like getting reimbursed at work via an expense report. Jeep cares can also get you a $100 a month gas card, which is supposed to be emailed directly to me (or you when you open the case), which will continue every month until the recall is resolved.

Anyone a Simpsons fan? If I were a betting man, I would say the inanimate carbon rod is in charge over at Jeep/FCA.
Same here. 18 months left on lease. We've owned many Chryslers and 2 Jeep Wranglers now. NEVER again. Done. The 4xe was a huge mistake.

This is where I am confused. 22 Rubicon 4xe....having a few issues one being the hybrid battery....they had to replace it. This was just a few weeks ago. I was hopeful that a new battery meant a resolution to the recall. However, the dealer said no...even though the battery is new, the recall remains and I was told to follow the guidelines....don't charge, park inside, etc...

Should be a new battery, so should be fine, but out of an abundance of caution, they're going to go on the conservative side.

Software update for the wranglers is due out in about 3 weeks.

What does the software update do with regards to the 95B recall?? This update will be installed and that will determine whether your battery is faulty and needs to be replaced?? Thanks
