I just got my 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4XE a week ago. Just now, I noticed Carplay from the center console USB-2 disconnects frequently usually after 5-10 minutes of driving. This happens multiple times and it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. I tried the USB-1 in the dash and the issue did not show up.
Any anyone with a remedy for this?
I can now confirm that a USB-A to USB-C dongle resolves this issue. The one I got from Amazon is this one USB Male to USB C Female Adapter,Compatible with Apple MagSafe Charger Watch 7/8,USB Type-C to A Charger Cable Converter for iPhone 14 13 12 Mini Pro Max,iPad,Samsung Galaxy,Google Pixel 6 5 4XL https://a.co/d/9vw2uxU

Using a new USB cable has completely fixed the issue for me.

I have the Carlinkit 3.0 (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09T9JLV5D) connected through the USB in the center arm rest compartment. Currently using an iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 16.2. It used to drop connection as frequently as every 15 minutes. It drove me crazy.

Then I tried using different USB-C to USB-A cables to see if that might be the issue. Ever since testing out the cable from my GoPro, it has worked flawlessly. Zero drops. And it's been over a month now.

My guess is that the USB cable they provide with the Carlinkit unit is just very low quality. As others have mentioned on this thread, buying an additional dongle or adapter may do the trick, but you may already have the solution if you have any spare USB-C to USB-A cables on you. Hope this helps!

I’m having this problem with my new 2023 with my phone and wife’s brand new phone. Started by purchasing an official apple cord, but have the same problem and the front ports work fine. Dealer says software is up to date and they can find nothing wrong and can’t replicate (I suggested they plug in their own phone and go for a drive), but they went ahead and replaced the USB port. 15 minutes into driving and it dropped again. Glad/sad to know I’m not alone in this. I’m going to order the Carlinkit and see if that fixes it.

Im having this issue with my 2024 Rubicon. the new ones have wireless car play with uconnect 5. I just plugged in to charge my phone and it keeps kicking me in and out of car play in that console port... the other one seems to work okay but hate having a cord out like that now...
